Rachel is professional and extremely Knowledgeable in her field. She took the time to listen and understand the root cause behind the problems. She has worked over time to unpick things and build a plan that was manageable, supporting me all the way. I find her ethos and approach holistic and highly effective. She was able to bring together the missing pieces to my health journey and by imparting her endless knowledge, give me the skills to be more independent in managing my own health. I would highly recommend her services

Patient #3516

I am so trying to get better and be back at work and Dr Porter just gives such helpful advice, an absolute life saver.

NH – London

Robin helped to explain why I was still breathless despite all the doctor’s tests coming back normal.  This allowed me to retrain my breathing and allowed me to travel to visit my sister, which meant so much to me, thanks Robin.

Patient #6402

Dr Anna Porter has been incredibly supportive and helpful on both my appointments thus far – I have such a positive experience which has completely changed my perspective on seeking help. She is humble, thoughtful, knowledgeable and ready to listen – she recommend an array of resources to help my healing. She has been a great listener, empathetic, thoughtful.

RW, Carer for very severe pwME, Northern Ireland

After decades of being frustrated and insulted by doctors who would not acknowledge the physical nature of ME, we found Dr Kane. She made us feel that she cared and understood. She immediately helped us by dealing with our GP and took a genuine interest in understanding my husband’s specific issues. She went above and beyond to facilitate therapy to try and help. There is not a doubt in my mind that, by doing so, she saved his life. She continues to support us on our journey and keeps and open minded approach, whilst keeping a close eye on scientific developments. The clinic support staff are fantastic too – super prompt and helpful.

Alexis Gilbert, severe ME, POTs and long covid patient, West Yorkshire

This first time I had a consultation with Dr. Binita Kane I cried with relief and validation at finally being listened to and treated like a patient who was severely ill. She has been instrumental in my journey with both severe ME and Long Covid. Her exceptional understanding of these complex conditions, combined with her compassionate approach, has made an enormous difference in my care.

What sets Dr. Kane apart is her willingness to listen and truly understand the devastating impact of ME and Long Covid on daily life. She takes a thorough, systematic approach to symptoms management while staying current with the latest research and treatment options. I particularly appreciate her holistic perspective – considering not just the physical symptoms, but also the emotional and practical challenges of living with chronic illness. She has helped me to manage symptoms and trial treatments while validating the reality of my conditions.

Under her care, I’ve felt supported and understood. Her expertise in respiratory medicine, combined with her knowledge of post-viral conditions and passion to make a difference for patients has made a real difference to my quality of life. You only have to look at her advocacy work to see how she is dedicated to making a difference to patients with severe ME and long covid.

She truly represents the kind of medical professional that chronic illness patients need and deserve.

Nicki Lambert

I have been working with Rachel for over 18 months now to treat MCAS and related chronic gut issues. She has been an amazing support and her professional expertise has been invaluable; not only has she helped me to significantly improve my systems through functional medicine, but she has introduced me to holistic approaches, such as quantum and circadian biology, which have helped me to manage stress more effectively and use natural resources to support my healing. Rachel is friendly, empathetic and has a wealth of experience; she works with me at my own pace and I can always contact her with any questions, or for reassurance. When I first met Rachel, my symptoms were still preventing me from living a normal life but I am now almost symptom free and able to work again. Most importantly, she has taught me how to embrace a simpler lifestyle, using natural resources like sunlight for healing, and find joy once again. I would highly recommend her.

Anonymous child (age 14yrs), Dorset

I’m very happy being under the Long Covid Clinic. The NHS didn’t understand my health issues, but Dr Kane and Dr Khushnood get it and know what is going on. They explain things really well and are helping me like no one else has been able to.

Dr NH and Mrs AH, Parents of two children with Long Covid, Shropshire

Our two sons have been severely disabled by Long Covid since contracting this horrific disease during the first part of the pandemic in March 2020. Over the last five years we have watched them quietly suffer and lose every aspect of their lives despite having taken them to multiple healthcare professionals who have been unable to help with physical treatments that are not yet available through the NHS. Dr Kane, Dr Khushnood, Physiotherapist Robin McNelis and Specilaist Nurse Julie Taylor have a wealth of knowledge and experience with Long Covid and, with their help, we are already seeing a small improvement after only recently starting treatment. Whilst still early days, Dr Kane and the team have given us hope that they will both eventually make a significant recovery. The Long Covid Clinic team are fighting for and helping these patients who have been forgotten and left in the shadows – we cannot thank them enough.

I’m really grateful to have found Nadyne over 2 years ago when I was struggling with Covid infection, and not recovering as quickly as I hoped. It’s hard to put into words the impact of Nadyne’s holistic and adaptive approach through different forms of therapy has had in not only supporting my recovery, but also giving me invaluable practices to use in all aspects of my life.

Nadyne quickly discovered my creative side, and regularly referenced this within our sessions. She would often give me techniques to express ongoing symptoms in a creative way outside of sessions, and this supported me to feel safe within my body whilst healing and recovering.

I now realise that recovery from illness and physical symptoms is a journey which goes a lot deeper than I initially anticipated. I truly believe Nadynes support has played a huge part in getting me where I am today on my healing journey.

Patient #6267

Dr Anna Porter has been amazing during a really stressful time for me and couldn’t be more thankful and grateful for her care. She puts you at ease and someone I feel really comfortable with.

Patient #0696

Dr Porter is really lovely and understanding. Takes her time to listen to all my concerns and helping me getting issues sorted I’ve struggled with for a long time.

Shauna, carer for partner with severe ME.

Dr Kane has been a breath of fresh air to work with. She takes the time to really try and understand what’s going on, use appropriate tests to give more information and make sensible suggestions to manage symptoms. She is honest about the complexity of M.E. but we’re reassured that she’s determined to do everything she can to help. She really listens and will tweak the plan when needed, to suit new or changing symptoms. She is calm, reassuring and we have confidence in her as a practitioner and a person. Dr Kane takes an holistic approach and we really like that she is continually pushing her own (already excellent!) understanding, remaining open minded with her finger the pulse for new research. We would highly recommend working with Dr Kane and it’s refreshing to work with such a well informed and empathetic practitioner.

EJ – France

Julie is a wonderful health professional whose knowledge and compassion shine through. Clearly an expert in her field, Julie was able to give me more answers, guidance and optimism – in one video consultation – than I have had in 5 years of dealing with long covid. I was particularly impressed by Julie’s ability to really listen – and instantly assess – the information I gave her. Talking to her, was like consulting an encyclopaedia that can turn the vaguest of symptoms into explanations. For the first time, I feel I have a path forward to deal with my condition. Julie is truly setting the standard for patient care and understanding.

Caroline from Kent

Binita Kane’s Long Covid clinic has been like a breath of fresh air. We not only gained Dr Kane’s knowledge as a medical professional, but her understanding as a mother who has experienced Long Covid within her own family. This is one of the first times that a medical professional hasn’t been surprised by some of my sons’ symptoms, and actually validated what he said.

We have had several consultations, and I have been impressed with how closely she listens to what my son says and is very much guided by him, with regards to which medications are working, which is refreshing. She is prepared to try different approaches, in order to find the correct balance, but takes a cautious and safe approach.

After our first Consultation, I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. My son found her easy to speak to, and instantly trusted her judgement. She developed a quick rapport with him, and her empathy and kindness were very much appreciated.

All of Dr Kane’s team have been efficient and professional, the communication has been excellent and there is always a member of her team available to answer any questions, or concerns which I may have. Prescriptions and letters are issued immediately, and I haven’t had to spend my time chasing and following up what has been discussed during the consultation.

Denise Robinson

Partnering with Rachel following ongoing digestive, respiratory and fatigue issues post Covid infection has been a joy.

Her genuine interest, knowledge and kindness has been so incredibly helpful, whether trying to work out what to take on board or what to dismiss. Rachel is a firm hand to hold. She has gently and sensitively guided me to take back control of my health, enabling new confidence, wellbeing and healing.  Blessings and thank you again Rachel.

Parents of young adult patient with very severe ME

Dr Binita Kane is one of just a few highly skilled and knowledgeable specialists in the UK working with people with Long COVID and ME. Compassionate, proactive and always curious, she has listened carefully and taken time to understand our daughter’s needs. She has been a strong advocate for our daughter in all her communication with other professionals. Her unwavering commitment to championing the needs of those most severely affected remains steadfast, even when navigating challenging discussions with other professionals. We don’t know where we would be without her.

SW, UK

Working with Nadyne has been nothing short of transformational. From our first session I felt heard, safe and valued. With gentle, respectful enquiry and practical exercises she has enabled subtle and significant improvements in my condition. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone seeking therapy.

Patient #2427

Dr Anna Porter was very professional, listened very carefully and advised me very clearly, was very prompt and actioned what I needed during and straight away after our meeting.
Thank you DR.

Pamela, mum of child with Long Covid, Dorset

My child finally feels validated for their condition after 3+ years of being failed by the NHS with missed diagnoses and no available treatment options.
Dr Kane, her nurse Julie and Dr Khushnood are all so knowledgeable about Long Covid and it’s associated conditions. We have found them all to be so kind, understanding and reassuring, patient focused and extremely thorough in identifying the issues and working towards improvements at the patient’s own pace.

We have had such a positive experience with the Long Covid Clinic and my child has really benefited since being under their care. As we are on the south coast it’s a long distance for us but with careful planning for pacing and rest it’s manageable and it’s been more than worth it as we are finally seeing improvement after a several difficult years.

LR, Long Covid Sufferer, London

What incredible good fortune I had to find Dr Anna Porter. At every stage of my recovery and for every unexpected symptom she had an unparalleled understanding and a thoughtful approach to treatment. The destabilizing nature of long covid can make one feel extremely vulnerable, but having a doctor who listens, cares, and really knows what you are going through can make all the difference. Dr Porter was that difference for me.

TH London

Robin, I have worked in Sales for over 50 years and you are the best salesman I have ever met – but you are selling a lifestyle and not a product.

JS, UK

Nadyne is such an excellent practitioner and a lovely person – I feel lucky to have found her in my darkest days of Long Covid. She is empathetic and a truly regulating presence, and uses her range of expertise to help you tune into your own body and nervous system. After so much medical gaslighting, it was so refreshing to find a therapist who could help practically and emotionally without any blame or judgement. Thank you Nadyne.

Ethan Denyer

Rachel is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to complex health issues like MCAS.
when my boyfriend was really struggling-being passed around the medical system and heavily medicated without anyone actually trying to find the root cause-Rachel stepped in and made a huge difference.
She coached both of us through understanding his condition, identifying triggers, and supporting his body through targeted nutrition and lifestyle changes. Her approach was thoughtful, thorough, and completely personalized-so different from the one-size-fits-all care we were used to.
Rachel truly took the time to listen, explain, and guide us through what felt like an overwhelming and confusing situation. Thanks to her, we felt supported and empowered instead of lost and dismissed.
I highly recommend Rachel, especially if you’re navigating MCAS or any complex health issues. She’s a rare find.

Dan Rees, BrandCandy

Rachel’s knowledge of best-practice and thought-leadership across multiple subject areas in her industry is reassuring to say the least. In fact, her hunger to find answers and solutions that will improve patient wellbeing, including my own, is clearly driven by a high degree of passion for results, her considerable intellect and unwavering professionalism.

Becky Williams, Severe Long Covid Sufferer, Leeds

Dr Kane and the team at The Long Covid Clinic have truly been a lifeline for me and my family. Not only is Dr Kane compassionate, approachable and fiercely loyal to her patients, but she draws upon her vast medical and personal experience to ensure that patients receive the best care possible. At a time where I felt scared, alone and dismissed by much of the medical profession, Dr Kane made me feel listened to, validated and important. I recommend her to anyone I ‘meet’ who also, unfortunately, is sick with Long Covid or ME, and I will continue to do so going forwards.

T Moore, Long COVID Sufferer, London

Dr Kane has been an invaluable resource for me during my Long Covid journey, helping me access treatments and tests that wouldn’t be possible through the NHS. She understands the disease and the awful toll it takes on your life better than any other doctor I’ve seen.

Patient #6781

It was so nice to have my symptoms taken seriously and an immediate plan put in place.

Patient #5997

Thank you so much. This service has helped me with something I have been struggling with for years. I wish I had used this sooner.

Patient #8258

Was so helpful to be able to have a decent length chat with a GP and Anna Porter was very understanding of my issue and made me feel validated in what I’m experiencing.

Patient #7436

The service I have been given had been second to none extremely helpful professional. I couldn’t fault the doctors at all.

Dr S. N, West Yorkshire

I contracted Covid-19 at the very start of the pandemic in April 2020 while I was working on a Covid ward. I subsequently developed POTS and long-Covid but struggled to get a formal diagnosis although was started on Ivabradine to control my heart rate by my local LC clinic. I battled various symptoms over a few years and did not get much support from my local service or my GP and I was at the point of thinking of giving up on a career I had worked so hard to build. I subsequently managed to get an appointment with Dr Kane and saw her in March 2024 who not only made a diagnosis but started on an experimental regime of treatment for 12 months. In March 2025, I completed this treatment (known as triple therapy) and now have my life back and have been able to progress further in my career too. Words are not enough to thank Dr Kane but she offered a lifeline when there was none; and more importantly, her care, dedication and holistic approach has given me a new lease on life!

SW, Long COVID sufferer, Merseyside

I contracted COVID in March 2020. It’s effects were devastating to both me and to my family. I lost April 2020, and merely functioned for many months to follow. Whilst I was lucky that I was able to work, it was a struggle and I reached the point in January 2023 where my life outside work was non-existent, I could hardly function to cook a meal after a day at work and my family life was suffering as a result. That was when a family friend and colleague told me about Binita and her work.

In March 2023, I met Binita and Julie. This was the point my life changed for the better. No longer was I labelled depressed, or menopausal; they understood I was clinically, physically ill. Alongside Binita’s medications, which have helped my physical symptoms, Julie has helped me rebuild my life by helping me to learn strategies to pace and manage my symptoms. They have helped me learn to be a new, better me. I can now think about driving a car for 2 hours to see my sister, and also enjoy being there after that drive. I can plan a day out with my children and not only enjoy the day, but function the following day. With their treatment and expert care, when the crashes happen, they are smaller in magnitude, fewer in frequency and shorter in duration.

Other members of the team have helped with the psychological trauma of my horrific experiences in Spring 2020. I am no longer afraid to go to crowded places. I no longer hide behind a mask for fear of catching COVID again. I am learning to live again and enjoy the life I have regained.

“Thank you” is such a small set of words, but they are words that only start to convey my feelings towards this wonderful group of people. My life, my husband’s life and my children’s lives are all the better for the outstanding care I have received.

A K

I was diagnosed with ME/CFS three years ago. I went from being very active to becoming housebound, and finding it hard to concentrate for more than a few minutes. Visits to the GP invariably ended with ‘Are you sure you’re not depressed?’

I did research and found supplements and treatments that had ‘cured’ others. Desperate for relief, I paid up but my health did not improve. Then my daughter read about the Long Covid Clinic and urged me to contact them.

At my first appointment Dr Porter really listened to me. She made suggestions and checked back to make sure I was OK with what she proposed and she didn’t once ask if I was depressed. If you have had ME/CFS for any length of time, you will know this is rare.

In all my contact with her I find her to be thorough, knowledgeable and kind. She tackled the basics first; sleep, nutrition, pacing, rest and mental health.

At first it was a bit daunting, as I realised how ill I was, but so reassuring to have a doctor who worked with me until solutions were found.

Once the foundations were in place she moved on to find treatments for my particular iteration of this miserable disease. For the first time in three years I have hope of gradual improvement and getting my life back. Thank you

RG, patient with long covid, Leeds

I’m hugely grateful for Dr Kane’s support, knowledge and expertise as I’ve navigated life with long covid. Having felt let down by local medical clinics, her holistic approach has left me feeling heard and understood. With Dr Kane’s input I’ve seen an improvement in my symptoms and functioning, and have been able to return to work with some adjustments – I don’t think this would have been possible without the input I’ve been given through the Long Covid Clinic. It is great that the Clinic team is growing, and I’ve also greatly benefited from Robin McNelis’s guidance.  Thank you!

Lisa Nops

I don’t think I would be feeling this well if it wasn’t for Rachel. Under her guidance and protocols, I’ve adopted a new diet that involves taking a number supplements to improve my gut health and impaired liver function. MCAS is no longer so all-consuming. She’s been very clever in how she’s found connections between my gut and liver that have resulted in the allergies which worsened after having Covid.

Patient #0881

Dr Porter is fantastic. Go to person everytime! Caring and knowledgeable with a lot of empathy. A*!

Patient #0771

My doctor was so kind and understanding and it was easy to talk to her and I didn’t feel like I was making a fuss.

Rose Thomas

I enjoy working with Rachael very much. She listens carefully and then works out an individual treatment plan for me. She has a really good understanding and knowledge of chronic health conditions. She provides a brilliant write up of things to try and work on. She is kind, empathetic and gives one confidence to move forward. Working with Rachael has really helped a lot.

Lucy

Rachel is a complete professional and I feel in very safe hands, especially knowing that she personally understands the chronic illness journey and from her extensive knowledge and experience. She makes me feel very hopeful for a recovery, I feel grateful to have found her.

I highly recommend her masterclasses to patients and healthcare practitioners alike to understand more about MCAS, histamine intolerance and circadian biology. The level of detail in them is outstanding and you will learn volumes.

Patient #6834

very happy with my appointment with doctor porter today, she listens very well and is very thorough.

Severe ME/CFS, My Story of Hope and Recovery

When Dr. Kane first visited in July 2023, I was in a very bad way: bedbound for eight months in a pitch-black, silent room with very severe ME/CFS, struggling to speak or feed myself. It was clear that no-one within the NHS knew what to do, and my care was mainly left to my parents, so we were immensely relieved to have found a doctor willing to take charge when no-one else would. After she left, I remember my dad coming up and saying, “I feel quite hopeful about her.” It was the first time I’d heard him sound optimistic in months.

Under her supervision, we tried various treatments, introduced slowly. In the following weeks, I began to make tiny, gradual gains like feeding myself and whispering for a few minutes at a time. This made my condition more bearable and convinced me that it was possible to keep improving. I continued to see Dr. Kane every few months and found her empathetic, understanding and willing to answer any questions, which I mainly communicated through scribbles on a notepad.

There were bumps in the road, but in the following year my overall trajectory was upwards. Four months after Dr. Kane visited, I stood up and walked a few steps for the first time in over a year. In the following months, and supported by carers who visited me at home, I began taking short walks outside my bedroom, showering using a purpose-built chair, switching my eye mask for sunglasses and removing my ear defenders for short periods. After eight months, I could go downstairs for fifteen minutes every day and have a cup of tea and a chat with one of my carers. My steady progress continued until I no longer needed sunglasses or ear protection. I remember the joy of sitting up in bed and watching the Harry Potter films back-to-back.

The more I improved, the easier it became to manage my ongoing recovery. Under the advice of Robin McNelis, I used ‘micro-pacing’ to refine my approach to rehab, which involved very gently increasing my activities as and when it felt manageable.

As I write this in April 2025, I am so much better than I was. I can write, see friends, and I even took a trip away with my parents last week. Although I still have significant limitations, after being so ill for so long I am filled with gratitude for everything I can do, and Dr. Kane’s help was critical in getting me here. My improvement continues, and I believe I will one day recover fully. In the future, I hope to return to playing football and write a novel, along with doing all I can to help others with ME/CFS and similar conditions.

A Call to Action from Dr Kane

I remember climbing up into the dark attic where Nick was living with a torch, wondering how someone had managed to live like this, unable to leave his bed or tolerate any stimulation for 8 months. Nick’s recovery has been remarkable and gives hope that recovery is possible with the right help and support. We were lucky that Nick responded to various off-label therapies, but we desperately need the research to help us understand how and why patients respond to different treatments. This disease is so heterogenous that there is no ‘one shoe fits all’ approach. Clinicians like me continue to do our best, but without any clear diagnostics or biomarkers to guide us, it remains challenging for everyone.

Together we can drive change, but we need your support. If you can, please help raise awareness by supporting the #ThereForME campaign (https://www.thereforme.uk/) and our partner Charities Long COVID Kids  https://www.longcovidkids.org/ and Long COVID Support  https://www.longcovid.org/

After years of fighting eating disorders and low self confidence, Rachel’s guidance literally changed my life. Encouraged to find a holistic approach, I started exercising but i was afraid to put on weight and my negative relationship with food still dominated my day and I had little energy. Rachel’s approach was never to push me to eat. Her sensitive and knowledgeable approach helped explain how food affects the body and how the body and mind are so intrinsically linked. I trusted her completely. Followed the excellent advice and guidance she provided and eventually (all change takes time) after 30 years of battling food cravings and guilt after eating, I’m now the fittest, healthiest and happiest I’ve ever been. I still turn to Rachel when I have wobbles or worries and her door remains open. Rachel isn’t just selling a product or doing a job she wholeheartedly believes in what she does and it’s that unwavering strength of faith and intuitive understanding of others that makes her so exceptional at what she does.
