Brief Bio

Julie Taylor is a highly experienced NMC-registered nurse with a diverse clinical background across NHS services, including neurology and bladder and bowel health. She also holds qualifications in Adult and children’s counselling, neurolinguistics and life coaching, supporting patients holistically across the emotional and physical dimensions of health.

After contracting COVID-19 in 2020, Julie developed Long COVID and associated syndromes such as POTS and PEM. Her personal recovery journey significantly shaped her professional path. Today, she combines clinical expertise with lived experience to support hundreds of patients in their own recoveries.

My Story

In early March 2020, I was deployed into a frontline nursing role as the first wave of COVID-19 surged across the UK. By May, I became unwell with acute COVID-19, and my life changed in ways I could never have imagined.

What followed was a long and challenging journey with Long COVID. I developed postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), post-exertional malaise (PEM), and a host of other symptoms. Like so many others, I found myself navigating a world of uncertainty, unanswered questions, and complex health challenges.

But through trial, research, advocacy, and the support of community, I gradually found my path toward recovery. I leaned into every available intervention, rest, pacing, nutrition, rehabilitation and day by day, I began to reclaim my life.

That experience didn’t just change me personally; it reshaped my professional purpose.

For me, Long COVID isn’t just a diagnosis, it’s a shared experience that calls for connection, compassion, and hope.

But my lived experience with Long COVID gave me a new lens and a renewed drive to support others in a more meaningful way.

Now, I work with patients across the UK who are also living with Long COVID. I support them in navigating symptoms like POTS, fatigue, digestive issues, bladder, bowel and pelvic floor health, cognitive dysfunction, and sleep disruption, with empathy, clinical knowledge, and genuine understanding.
