Dr Oliver is passionate to raise awareness that how we breathe over 24-hours impacts health, and changing how we breathe can help support Long COVID recovery.
I became a perimenopausal snorer however after improving her breathing efficiency, her snoring stopped, her sleep, exercise tolerance and stress resilience improved.
I have had first-hand experience that breathing is generally automatic however it is not automatically efficient. Our unconscious breathing pattern can be efficient, inefficient or anywhere in between. Breathing efficiently provides the basic foundation for every cell, tissue, organ & system in the body to work efficiently. Breathing at rest should use the nose, be quiet, slow and driven by the diaphragm – this is how we have been designed to breathe. Consider how you breathe whilst resting, moving and sleeping over a 24-hour period.
I have worked with many clients adapting and personalising her breathing re-education programme to help them return to breathing efficiently as nature intended. The improvements she has seen personally and with her clients is what drives her passion to help others and raise awareness that how we breathe matters and we can change how we breathe.
